Establishes New Office to Root out Inefficiency

In his , President Trump criticized the red-tape associated with obtaining project permits and approvals鈥, which can delay projects by a decade or more. He signaled a new urgency within the Federal government to reform the permitting for infrastructure and announced a new office charged with modernizing and streamlining the process.
The office will reside within the Council for Environmental Quality. 鈥淲e will get rid of the redundancy and duplication that wastes your time and your money.鈥 President Trump said when announcing the office, which will 鈥渉elp project managers navigate the bureaucratic maze鈥 and create 鈥渁 new online dashboard allowing everyone to easily track major projects through every stage of the approval process.鈥 The President also called for agencies to be held accountable for missing permitting deadlines.
